Such a great little dehumidifier!

What a terrific rotary desiccant dehumidifier! I’ve always wanted one of these, but the price was never quite right—until I saw this one! Unlike conventional dehumidifiers, this unit doesn’t contain Freon and can operate efficiently in temperatures as low as the low 30s Fahrenheit. Conventional compressor dehumidifiers would struggle in those conditions, so this one is a game-changer.
We needed to dehumidify a small room in our barn, but since the barn isn’t heated, it’s been tough to find a unit that could handle the cold. This model’s ability to work in a wide temperature range made it an obvious choice. It also has an automatic drain hose option, which many units of this size lack, so I don’t have to empty the bucket every day. Plus, it’s super lightweight and portable. We’ve even used it to dehumidify our cars and camper van when they’ve gotten wet or humid.
I’m already finding tons of uses for it! The owner’s manual was clear and really helpful, and I love the sleek, minimalist design. The warranty is great too. Highly recommend this dehumidifier!

Best dehumidifier I've ever owned

After years of using compressor-style dehumidifiers in my perpetually moist basement with an open sump pit, I decided to try a desiccant-style dehumidifier due to repeated frustrations with compressor units failing within a couple of years. I purchased this Dr.Prepare dehumidifier to test the technology, intending to upgrade later—but it exceeded my expectations so much that I’ll be sticking with this model!
This unit is quieter, more efficient, and, I anticipate, more reliable than any compressor-based dehumidifier I’ve owned. During the initial setup without the hose, it filled its tank in about 8 hours, a testament to its dehumidifying power. Once satisfied, I connected a hose to drain water into an external condensate pump, which routes it to the sewer. After a couple of weeks, my basement, including the open sump pit, was completely dry—a result I’d never achieved before.
Its small size and portability are major advantages. I was so impressed that I bought a second one for my bathroom to combat high humidity from showers. I even used it in my car after cleaning the carpets, and it worked fantastically to dry them overnight.
Although this dehumidifier meets nearly all my needs, an upgraded version with a built-in humidistat and pump would make it perfect. A humidistat would allow it to cycle on and off to save energy, and a built-in pump would provide more flexibility in placement, as gravity-fed drainage limits where it can be positioned.
For the price, this dehumidifier is exceptional and has transformed my approach to managing humidity. Highly recommended!

Works well, low-maintenance

I’m really pleased with this dehumidifier and use it regularly in my small apartment, which is between 700 and 800 square feet. I typically run it overnight for about 12 hours, and by the morning, the tank is usually about half full or even more—often collecting at least 5 pints of moisture. I’ve gotten into a routine where I run it every other night, and then let the tank dry out the next day, which works perfectly for me.
The air filter is super easy to remove and clean, which is a nice touch. Since I live in a cool, wet climate, the heat from the unit isn’t an issue, and it’s quiet enough that it just sounds like a normal fan running in the background. Overall, I’m very happy with how well it works to keep the air dry and comfortable, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in a similar living situation!

Great product and impressive!

I purchased this dehumidifier in June for our home in a very rainy area, and it has been a lifesaver. We’re renting, and both bathrooms—one on the first floor and one on the second—lack ventilation fans, with only small jalousie windows near the ceiling. Despite daily cleaning and adding small fans, the constant rain and poor airflow made it nearly impossible to prevent mold growth.
After trying other dehumidifiers that were either too large for our small bathrooms or too slow to reduce humidity effectively, I finally found this one, and it works as advertised! It collects moisture quickly and is compact enough to fit in our small bathrooms without obstructing movement.
Its lightweight design makes it easy to move between the bathrooms and even to bedrooms as needed. I was so impressed with its performance that I purchased a second unit for the downstairs, ensuring we have one for each floor.
This dehumidifier has made a noticeable difference in maintaining a mold-free, comfortable environment. Highly recommended for small spaces in humid areas!

Made for a dorm

When I moved into my dorm freshman year, we were warned about the horrors of mold growing in the showers and on the walls. A dehumidifier was highly recommended, so I started looking for one that would fit in a small dorm space and actually work. I ended up choosing this one because of the great ratings and the reasonable price—but the drainage hose option was what really sold me.
At first, I wasn’t sure if we’d even use the hose, but it turned out to be a total game changer. We set the dehumidifier on the counter in the main room with a sink, attached the hose, and let it drain directly into the sink. It’s been amazing—not having to empty the water tank all the time is a lifesaver because let’s be real, no college student is going to remember to do that.
This little unit has made such a difference. The room feels completely dry, there’s no mold, and even the funky dorm odors are gone. It’s been a perfect solution for our space, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone living in a dorm. If you’re debating whether or not to get this, just do it. You won’t regret it!
